All reman powerheads are completely disassembled, precision machined, honed, cleaned and assembled by a team of machinist. Remanufactured to new condition and precision with 100% OEM components using the latest engineering revisions, Veradosource is the only logical choice for a remanufactured uni
The shortblock starts with dissassembly and cleaning. The typical block gets honed to factory spec so the new rings will seat properly with a through break in. Its possible that oversized pistons are used on certain assy. Veradosource has its own oversized piston for certain models. all deck surfaces are cleaned and checked for corrosion and flatness. This is very important on verados as they have a tendency to warp. we then micro polish the crankshaft and measure them for straightness and concentricity. we check all main and rod journals and get ready to start measuring the block for bearing clearance. We then set up bearing clearance to factory spec and triple check for fitment and accuracy. next the connecting rods get cleaned and checked for size and flatness then new rod bearing are fitted. The pistons get a sonic cleaning and then checked, if out of spec they are replaced. The reman pistons are then fitted with new rings and the shortblock is ready to assemble. The freshly cleaned and polished crank goes in the block and the remanufactured pistons go in. The new 14 block damper seals are installed along with a new top seal. The rods are then torqued to spec and the second half is ready to install. The block gets a coating of oem gasket sealer and then the second half is installed and torqued to spec. The short block is now complete and ready for the next step.
The cylinder head gets disassembled and either new valves or remanufactured valves are installed depending on application (350s and 400r get new valves on every rebuild.) a valve job is preformed and the head is then checked for flatness and corrosion. If necessary it will be resurfaced. Not every head is resurfaced, due to the tight tolerances if the head is within spec we will not resurface the head. this allows the customer in the future to cut the head and restore flatness. We then reassemble the head with fresh seals and proper valve lash. The cylinder head is then ready to install on the shortblock assy.
Final long black assy starts with the fully machined and assembled short block, we then chose the finished head for the longblock assy. We then install a new head gasket and finalize the torque of all main bolts and case bolts. once all bolts are torqued we install a new timing chain along with a new tensioner and o ring. This step is important as these parts have been updated over the years, We only install New updated timing components in all of our long block assy. The motor is then timed and all timing components are triple checked for accuracy and torque. Then a valve cover is installed, sometimes this valve cover is for shipping purpose only and you will need to remove your core valve cover and install on the longblock assy. typically this is an updated valve cover and there is no need to install a different valve cover. This info will be attached directly to the powerhead if necessary. The assy is then checked for fittings and painted in necessary. The finished assembly is then wrapped in plastic and palleted for shipping.

This head was warped out of factory spec so it needed to be resurfaced.
This 400r block headgasket had failed under high boost, it needed to be resurfaced.
