Lower Unit Limited Warranty
1-Year / 100-Hour Limited Warranty
This Limited Warranty provides coverage against the cost of repairs to your lower unit when repairs are required due to defects in workmanship. When properly operated, maintained, and used as prescribed, you can rely on Verado Source to provide dependable service.
This warranty provides you with specific legal rights. Please read this warranty carefully and become familiar with its terms and conditions.
Warranty Term
This is a 1-Year / 100-Hour Limited Lower Unit Warranty, effective from the date of purchase.
- The warranty is valid for one (1) year from the purchase date or 100 operating hours, whichever occurs first.
- The warranty covers one (1) lower unit repair or replacement during the warranty period due to a remanufacturing defect.
- Once the lower unit has been repaired or replaced under this warranty, the warranty is considered fulfilled and void.
Obtaining Warranty Repairs
- The lower unit must be returned to Verado Source for warranty consideration.
Repairs performed elsewhere are not covered.
- Verado Source will not reimburse or pay labor costs related to disassembly or assembly performed by third parties.
- All shipping costs, inbound and outbound, are the responsibility of the customer, even if the warranty claim is approved.
- During the warranty period, Verado Source will cover:
- Labor costs directly related to repairing the lower unit
- Parts required to repair the lower unit
- Warranty approval is at the sole discretion of Verado Source.
- No labor or repairs performed by any other individual or company will be covered.
- Paint and cosmetic finishes are not covered under warranty.
Covered Components
This Limited Warranty covers defects in the lower unit only, including major mechanical failures such as:
- Water intrusion
- Loss of function
- Broken gears
General Exclusions from Warranty
This warranty does not cover damage caused by:
- Racing, competition, commercial use, or abnormal strain
- Improper maintenance or lack of maintenance
- Excessive RPM operation
- Improper propeller selection
- Use of incorrect lubricants, oils, fuel, or fuel/oil mixtures
- Accidents or collisions
- Any lower unit work performed by anyone other than Verado Source
- Marine growth on the lower unit
- Normal wear and deterioration
Warranty Void Conditions
This warranty becomes null and void if any alterations or modifications are made to the lower unit by the installer or customer, including but not limited to:
- Bottom painting of the lower unit
- Drilling holes
- Adding aftermarket parts or accessories
- Tuning or performance modifications of any kind
Customer Responsibilities
The customer is responsible for ensuring the outboard motor is:
- Properly operated
- Properly maintained
- Properly stored
This warranty applies only to lower units that have been installed, operated, and maintained according to the guidelines stated in this contract.
All maintenance and operation must follow the manufacturer’s owner’s manual (Yamaha, Mercury, Johnson, etc.).
The owner must notify Verado Source of any apparent defect within five (5) business days of discovery and make the lower unit available for inspection and repair at Verado Source’s place of business.
Parts Excluded from Warranty
This warranty does not cover normal maintenance or wear items, including but not limited to:
- Paint
- Bent or broken prop shafts
- Propellers
- Water intrusion from prop shaft due to fishing line or other items wrapped around prop shaft.
Corrosion Exclusion
Corrosion is not covered under this warranty.
Marine environments—especially saltwater—can cause corrosion. Stray electrical currents near docks may accelerate corrosion damage. While manufacturers provide corrosion protection, corrosion-related damage is not covered under this Limited Warranty.
Transferability
This warranty is non-transferable and applies only to the original purchaser listed on the contract.

Verado Source makes no other warranties, expressed or implied. All implied warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose that exceed the terms and duration of this warranty are expressly disclaimed.
